DiagTool

We've been working on this diagnostic tool for quite some time with the goal of making remote vehicle diagnostics simpler and more accessible for everyone. Our main idea was to help technicians and enthusiasts use their existing aftermarket diagnostic tools to connect to vehicles remotely — just as if they were sitting in the workshop next to the car.

The complete  kit consists of two applications and two dedicated hardware devices — designed to work together as a unified remote diagnostic system.

 ■ Applications

  • Main App – Installed on the workshop computer, this application acts as the main control interface . It allows technicians to connect remotely to the customer's side, access the vehicle, and perform full diagnostics, programming using their preferred tools (such as ISTA or ESys).

  • Customer App – Installed on the customer's PC, which is physically connected to the vehicle. It handles the communication between the vehicle's diagnostic interface (ENET, VAG DoIP, or ICOM) and the technician's remote application, creating real-time diagnostic bridge.

 ■ Server Device (Technician Side)

The Server Device is installed on the technician's side , connected to the same local network as the Main App .
It acts as the physical interface for professional diagnostic tools and programming equipment.

Technicians can connect a wide range of aftermarket tools  to this device — those that communicate via CAN bus technology or  bench mode  .
This setup enables operations such as:

  • CAN-based diagnostics and programming

  • EEPROM reading and flashing, etc

■ Client Device (Customer Side)

The Client Device is located on the customer's side, directly plugged into the vehicle's diagnostic port.
Its only requirement is an internet connection — once online, it automatically links to the technician's Server Device.

From that point on, the technician gains full remote access to the vehicle's ECUs, allowing diagnostics, coding, programming, and communication over Ethernet (ENET, DoIP, ICOM), CAN bus or Bench mode.

Once the connection is established, the technician side can access the customer's side and communicate directly with the vehicle's control units. This setup gives technicians the same capabilities as if they were physically connected to the car, allowing them to perform diagnostics, coding, adaptations, ECU programming — all remotely.
