ZFTooL Instruction

 

 In order to make used transmission work in the BMW vehicles, two main steps must be done. First step is to reset immobilization data to “virgin” state . Second step is to code transmission to the vehicle.

 

 ZFTooL is hand held tool which can help you with first step to reset immobilization data on 8HP and 6HP transmissions installed in BMW  F body  vehicles . After reset procedure is done you can use BMW oem software to program used transmission to the vehicle. 

 

 If  BMW oem software not available then ZFTooL has online access port to help you do second step remotely. To use this option ZFTooL must be connected to high speed INTERNET via LAN cable and online appointment needs to be scheduled. 

 

1. Before starting reset procedure please read STATUS and take a picture of all data for future reference. If resetting procedure fails, status information will be needed to restore module.

2. After reset procedure is finished please read STATUS to make sure immobilization data is UNLOCKED.

3. Always use fully charged battery to supply power to transmission. Never use power supply or maintainer during reset procedure.  

4. Before starting reset procedure please make sure that used transmission is compatible to vehicle by decoding VIN from status information.

5. Use ONLY cables came in the kit. 

 

ZFTooL does not support 8HP and 6HP in BMW E body at this time.
